Hello! I am Nandini Sengupta.

Kolkata, my beloved hometown, is where the journey of my life began—a city that still resonates in the chambers of my memory with its poetry, people, and charm. I now reside in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, with my family, carrying forward the dreams that first took shape under the skies of Kolkata.

My love for languages inspired me to pursue English Literature and eventually led me to the lyrical beauty of Spanish. Reading and writing have always been more than mere hobbies—they are sacred spaces where I feel most alive. I believe that words, more than anything else, lend an illusion of permanence to our fleeting existence. They are the soul’s footprints on time.

This blog is not just a digital diary—it is a cornerstone of my creative universe. Like each brick in an edifice, every post here reflects my thoughts, stories, visions, and the ever-evolving essence of my writing self. Language is the medium, thought is the chisel, and creation is the sculpture—be it a poem that breathes life or a story that speaks of humanity, longing, or dreams.

A significant milestone in my journey as a writer was winning the short story writing competition organised by Rupa Publications and Mugafi. My story, ‘All for Love’, was selected by none other than Ruskin Bond, a literary icon whose words have nurtured generations of readers. The story was included in the anthology “Writing for Love,” edited by him and published by Rupa Publications in December 2024—a cherished honour that continues to inspire me.

Currently, I actively participate in poetry recitations and storytelling sessions at various literary events, sharing my voice and vision with the world. These interactions keep my creative flame alive and reaffirm my belief in the healing, uniting power of stories.
